Not All Fences Are Created Equal

We did a job for a client this Spring that is not your typical client when it comes to building a fence. Most of the time customers inquire for one of our Privacy fences or a Horizontal fence. Not our client on Ewing Ave.

When you first get to the property you are met with an old Spanish home, or maybe something you would see in Italy, that had been completely restored and renovated from top to bottom. With bright white stucco and black trimmed windows and copper gutters, it was easy to tell this house had rich character. Not a single detail was out out place inside and out, it was something you would see in an Architectural Digest magazine, until you got to the backyard. There was a stark white vinyl fence that surrounded the backyard. The only way I can describe the way it made the backyard look and feel is “cheap”. Thats where we came in to make something that we had never done before. Working closely with the client and her vision for the project was to make it feel like an Italian Villa Courtyard.

Through her vision we were able to create what we called our Cedar Slat Fence. With over 1800 pieces and nearly 7000 countersunk screws we are able to create a one of a kind fence. Now heres the thing…as you look at these photos you quickly realize this much more than a fence. You see the detail and the precision and the beauty that is this fence and that we have transformed it from a stark backyard to an extended living space of the home.
